Toronto police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run on Jane Street south of Lawrence Avenue early Thursday. Police say a man was involved in an altercation before he was struck by a minivan.

Police say two males who were believed to be part of the altercation fled the scene, while the driver of the minivan stopped.

The 51-year-old victim was rushed to Sunnybrook, where he was pronounced dead.

Jane Street was closed in both directions from Lawrence to Harding Thursday morning while police investigate the scene.
