A Toronto teacher suspended for inappropriate behaviour with a student has been charged with the sexual exploitation of another student.

Toronto police say the teacher at Monsignor Fraser College was arrested Tuesday for trying to engage a student into a sexual relationship.

The attempts were allegedly carried out over a series of phone calls.

The accused, 61-year-old Francis Gerard Devine, has been suspended from teaching.

He has been charged with sexual exploitation and criminal harassment. Devine was to appear in court on Wednesday.
