The Ontario Provincial Province are investigating after receiving several reports that a man dressed as a police officer has been entering GTA hospitals asking for certain patients.

Hospital workers say the suspect identifies himself as an OPP officer, and wears a similar uniform, complete with shoulder crests, striped uniform pants and what appears to be a holstered firearm.

Police began receiving complaints about the impersonator on Friday morning.

The man is described as:

  • White;
  • In his early 20s;
  • Slightly over 6 feet;
  • Thin build.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. C. Folz at 1-888-262-4821.

Police remind the public that they should ask for proper identification if they have doubts about an officer's authenticity. A real officer will show a badge and warrant card, with a photo.
