If you're planning on taking in the Live Earth concert, CTV Toronto will be broadcasting it for 26 hours -- but you don't have to stay glued to your couch to hear the call to fight climate change.

There are a few locations around the city where you can watch Canada AM's Seamus O'Regan and VJ Hannah Simone emcee the event live from the MuchMusic's headquarters at 299 Queen St. W.

The green movement will rock Yonge-Dundas Square from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday. One of the highlights will be a live viewing party of CTV's broadcast of the eight concert venues on a giant LCD screen.

The Live Earth concert will bring together 150 music artists and two billion people to inspire a global movement to "answer the call" and combat the climate crisis.

Toronto's Streetfest will also be on hand, packing the square with green products and services that people can use in their everyday lives, including:

• Bamboo;
• Clothing;
• Solar power;
• Low emission vehicles;
• Green roofs;
• Biodegradable packaging; and
• Organic foods.

The Toronto Harbourfront Community Association is also having a community festival Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. at Little Norway Park on Queen's Quay West and Bathurst Street featuring:

• A barbeque;
• Live entertainment;
• Outdoor activities; and
• A licensed refreshment tent.

The group wants to link with Live Earth to also simultaneously host a Friends of Live Earth function, with an indoor TV broadcast hookup in the community centre across the street from the park. Local politicians are also slated to give speeches in support of Live Earth.

You can also check out the concert at Ontario Science Centre, located at 770 Don Mills Road, in the Weston Family Innovation Centre. The centre is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. over the weekend, and admissions range from $10 to $17 for non-members.

CTV's coverage, the world's largest High Definition concert broadcast of all time, begins at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 6, when the first artist takes to the stage in Sydney, Australia, and continues until 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, when the historic event concludes at Giants Stadium in New Jersey.

The marathon will be the longest single program ever broadcast by the network.

"We're taking concerts from all over the world and bringing them to Canada ... no one else in the world is going to have this extensive coverage ... no one," said O'Regan, while rehearsing for the big show Friday afternoon.

MuchMusic, MuchMoreMusic, Bravo!, MuchVibe, and Star! will also be showing certain concerts. You can also listen to the music on CHUM radio stations.
