Two people were facing charges Saturday in connection with the murder of a Brampton teen killed late last month.

Akila Badhanage was swarmed by a group of men around Lord Simcoe Drive while on his way to work September 28. They stabbed him and ran away before police arrived on the scene. Badhanage was rushed to a hospital in the area but doctors were unable to save him.

Badhanage was buried on Saturday, the same day charges were laid against two suspects.

Jamal Johnson, 19 years of Brampton has been charged with First Degree Murder. Also charged with obstructing police is 22-year-old Justin Jack of no fixed address.

Another adult male currently in custody on an unrelated matter is expected to be brought to court next week in connection with Badhanage's attack. The unidentified man is expected to be charged wi8th first degree murder.

Police are still looking for 18-year-old Omari White.
