Toronto police believe two parents suspected of abducting their five-year-old daughter could be using five different sets of licence plates.

Investigators are now looking for a light-blue 1998 GMC Jimmy. They had initially been searching for an Acura Integra, but that vehicle was recovered on Monday. It's licence plates had been removed.

Police say the Jimmy could have the following licence plates:

  • BCCL 451
  • AJKA 478
  • 171 XRN
  • 279 RPE
  • JK 221

On Monday, detectives once again pleaded for the return of Alana Livas, who is suffering from rickets and may not be getting the medicine and vitamins she needs. Without ongoing treatment, the girl could have heart problems, which could lead to breathing difficulties, police said.

"We are certain that the parents are not aware of the seriousness of her condition as this diagnosis was made after the child was taken from them by Children's Aid Society (earlier this year)," Det. Sgt. Rick Searl said a news conference late Monday afternoon.

Police allege Peter and Vivene Livas took their daughter from a Children's Aid Society office in Toronto last Thursday without permission, and then drove away.
