From watching fighter jets race through the city skyline to chowing down on pasta in Little Italy, there is no shortage of ways to mark the unofficial end of summer this Labour Day weekend.

Sample the food, music, dances and crafts of more than 20 Spanish-speaking countries at the 27th Hispanic Fiesta. Events start at 3 p.m. Saturday though Monday at Mel Lastman Square.

Those hankering for a taste of Italy can head down to Fiera, a two-day Italian-flavoured street festival. Get your fill of Italian food while watching street performers on College Street between Bathurst and Shaw Streets. Events start at noon Saturday and Sunday.

For a sampling of Jewish culture, the Harbourfront Centre is host to the Ashkenaz Festival until Monday. The diverse line-up of events includes theatre, film, dance, art, literature and music, beginning at noon each day.

And as usual, the Exhibition winds down with the Canadian International Air Show. Everything from supply aircraft to fighter jets to aerobatics teams, not to mention the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, will wow the crowds each day starting at 1 p.m.

While the events go on rain or shine, Torontonians have nothing but blue skies and sunshine to enjoy until at least Wednesday. The high for Saturday and Sunday will be 27 degrees Celsius, while Monday's high is expected to be 28 C, according to an Environment Canada forecast posted at 4 p.m.

For those who want to stay indoors and shop, it's best to hit the stores Saturday and Sunday.

Most retail outlets, with the exception of designated tourist attractions such as Vaughan Mills and the Eaton Centre, will be closed on Monday. LCBO and Beer Store outlets, banks and government offices will also be closed.

There will be no mail delivery and TTC and Go Transit will be on holiday schedules.
