A shooting on a basketball court of an apartment building in the Jane and Finch area has left one person dead.
There had been earlier claims of a second shooting victim, but CTV Toronto reports that the suspected victim was actually a witness who required treatment for shock.
Toronto Police Service Const. Tony Vella told ctvtoronto.ca earlier on Tuesday that the call came in about 5:12 p.m.
"Police received a call about the sound of gunshots," he said, giving a specific address of 4400 Jane St.
A witness told police that he or she saw three men leave the scene in a silver vehicle, but that has yet to be confirmed, he said.
