Police have arrested nine teenagers for an alleged robbery spree that saw them target at least five victims for iPods and cellphones.

The incidents occurred at three general locations -- Lansdowne Avenue and Davenport Road, and Lansdowne and Dupont, and Dundas Street and Ossington Avenue.

The accused are between the ages of 16 and 18. Three are females. Police have laid a total of 81 charges, including robbery, assult with a weapon, aggravated assault and possession of stolen property.

The incidents occurred between approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday, Staff Sgt. Greg Payne of 13 Division told ctvtoronto.ca.

In one incident, an 18-year-old was reportedly beaten with a meat tenderizer (earlier reports said a steel bar) and kicked as a group demanded his money, cellphone and iPod. The victim received serious injuries to his head and face.

Police received a call on that incident at 12:54 a.m.

In another incident, an assailant struck one of two men in the head with a blunt object. That victim was hospitalized.

A third victim suffered serious injuries to the face and head after being repeatedly struck with a blunt object while being robbed of his cellphone.

Police suspect there may even be more victims and are asking anyone with information to contact either 13 Division at 416-808-1300 or at 14 Division at 416-808-1400.
