Police are after three suspects in connection with a shooting in North York.

The incident took place in a fifth-floor apartment at 1210 York Mills Road, which is close to the DVP.

A friend took the 22-year-old victim to North York General Hospital. Doctors there had him transferred to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, which has a specialized trauma centre.

He is being described as being in serious but stable condition.

Sgt. John Theriault of 33 Division told reporters the man had been shot in the stomach.

Members of the Emergency Task Force were dispatched to aid in the search, along with a canine unit.

The shooter has been described as black, with a light complex, about 6'1", weighing 170 lbs. He was wearing a grey hoodie, black jeans and a black baseball cap with the letters HMC on it.

The firearm has been described as long-barreled.
