Environment Canada predicts that Toronto will continue to see a large amount of rain over the next 24 hours.

The weather agency says a "significant rainfall" will affect a large swath of Southwestern and Eastern Ontario, stretching all the way from Kitchener through to Brockville and as far north as Barrie.

A low pressure system making its way through the United States will bring between 30 and 40 millimetres of rainfall, with up to 50 millimetres possible in selected areas.

The Environment Canada website has not issued a rainfall warning, because none of the affected areas are expected to see more than 50 millimetres of rain in a 12-hour period.

The City of Toronto, as well as Halton, York and Peel regions are among those areas that are expected to be hit by rain in the next day or so.
