Toronto police have a suspect in custody after finding a man's bloody remains in North York Wednesday morning.

Edward Scheniman, 41, surrendered to police on Wednesday. He has been charged with first-degree murder.

Investigators said they found a trail of blood leading to the victim's body at 1168 Caledonia Rd.,  an industrial area in North York near Lawrence Avenue and Dufferin Street.

An employee who works on Caledonia discovered the body and called authorities at 7:25 a.m.

The body had obvious signs of trauma.

Police had warned the public not to approach Scheniman if they located him as they considered him to be extremely dangerous.

The public had been asked to call 911 if they saw him or 416-808-7400 if they had any information about the murder.

The still-unidentified victim is Toronto's 23rd homicide victim of 2009. A post-mortem exam has yet to be scheduled.

Scheniman is to appear in court on Thursday.
