Peel police are appealing for information after charging a teacher who worked at a Mississauga high school with sexual assault.

The incident occurred at Father Michael Goetz Secondary School, located at 330 Central Parkway W.

Police say a 16-year-old female student there came to police and made a complaint.

"The suspect is an employee of the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board and, on May 29, 2009, was working as a teacher within the school," police said Friday in a news release.

The 50-year-old Toronto resident is scheduled to appear in court in Brampton on July 20.
