To keep the memory of his slain daughter alive, Rodney Stafford is riding a bicycle from Toronto to Edmonton and has already reached northern Ontario.

Tori Stafford disappeared from Woodstock, Ont., last April, but her body wasn't found until July 19. Two people have been charged in her murder.

The girl's father embarked on his bike ride last Wednesday, and the event is raising money for Child Find Ontario. It will take him more than 3,000 kilometres to reach his final destination.

On Saturday, Stafford reached Algonquin Park and continued into northern Ontario.

Last week, Terry Smith, assistant director of Child Find Ontario, said Stafford's journey is also a way for him to move forward.

"You can never make sense of something so completely senseless, but if you don't try to put one foot, or in his case, one pedal in front of the other, what's the point?" he told The Canadian Press.

"You have to have a reason to go on."
