Toronto police arrested a suspect early Saturday morning in connection with a sex assault on a 14-year-old girl earlier this year.

Police say the 24-year-old suspect was arrested at 12:14 a.m. in Toronto.

Investigators made the arrest five months after a teen reported being sexually assaulted in the Broadview Avenue and Dundas Street area in March. She told police that the perpetrator threatened to kill her if she reported the incident to police.

John Baverstock has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and threatening death.

He was expected to make an appearance at a courtroom in Old City Hall Saturday morning.
