Toronto police say they have arrested four young offenders in connection with a gang sexual assault and robbery in a Parkdale apartment building last month.

The attack occurred on Aug. 25 when a 23-year-old woman entered the front lobby of her apartment building in the King Street West and Dufferin Street area at 3 a.m.

Six males approached her. "The suspects forced her into a stairwell where she was (allegedly) robbed of her belongings and sexually assaulted," police said in a news release issued Tuesday evening.

The suspects fled and police were called, they said.

All suspects were desribed at the time as being black, between the ages of 16 and 18, and between 5'6" and 5'8".

Police say they have charged three 14-year-old boy and one 15-year-old boy with:

  • gang sexual assault
  • robbery

The suspects cannot be named due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They are to make a court appearance on Wednesday morning.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
