A man believed to be in his 70s suffered serious injuries Thursday morning after he was beaten during an apparent home invasion.
The senior was inside his apartment with his wife when he suffered the assault. The building is located on Antibes Drive, located just west of Bathurst Street, south of Steeles Avenue.
Toronto police said they received a call about a home invasion just before 7 a.m. from the victim's adult son.
The man's son, who does not live in the apartment, said he called police because his parents only speak Russian.
An official with Emergency Medical Services told CTV Toronto that the man was possibly hit in the head. He is being treated at Humber Finch Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
