WOODSTOCK, Ont. - Child Find Ontario says money raised in memory of Victoria Stafford, including from her father Rodney Stafford's bike ride, reached more than $40,000.

The group's executive director, John Durant, says the total was $42,687.78, adding the money raised by the "Kilometres for Kids" ride and donations made in Tori's name will be put to good use.

Rodney Stafford spent six weeks riding his bike from Woodstock, Ont., to Edmonton, a distance of 4,300 kilometres.

He was caught off guard by the amount of donations, saying his intention at first was not so much to raise money as to raise awareness.

Eight-year-old Victoria was abducted and killed after leaving her elementary school in Woodstock.

Woodstock residents Terri-Lynne McClintic and Michael Rafferty have been charged with kidnapping and first-degree murder.
