Durham Regional Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a suspect in a double shooting in Port Perry that left one man dead.

The shooting occurred Thursday afternoon at a home.

One shooting victim, a 35-year-old man, has been treated and released from hospital.

Police identified the homicide victim as Andrew Lee Shue, 43, a Toronto man who resides on Morningside Avenue.

"All three men in this incident were acquaintances and investigators do not believe this was a random act," police said Friday in a news release.

Police say they are seeking Danny Nguyen, 27, of Scugog Street in Port Perry. They describe him as being an Asian male, 6' tall and 140 lbs.

"Detectives are continuing to follow leads in an attempt to locate Nguyen. He is advised to turn himself in at the nearest police station. He is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him is urged not to approach him, but rather contact police," they said.

Police say the three men knew each other and used to frequent area casinos together. They also say the survivor of the shooting has provided a statement about what happened.

This level of violence is very unusual for Port Perry. The last such incident occurrred in 1994, when five people were wounded by gunfire, including three police officers.
