After nearly three decades, the Santa Claus Parade is coming back to CTV.

CTV announced Tuesday that it will broadcast the popular parade exclusively on November 21. The last time the parade aired on the network was in 1981.

CTV Toronto's sister station, CP24 will also provide exclusive live coverage of what is known as the longest-running children's parade in the world.

The network's deal makes CTV the exclusive broadcast sponsor of the event until 2012.

The parade has taken place annual in Toronto since 1905 and is generally attended by thousands. The route winds across the downtown Toronto core and includes a large display of colourful floats, bands, clowns and St. Nick himself.

"This is a joyful homecoming for CTV," said Susanne Boyce, CTV's president creative, content and channels. "Our coverage of the Parade will strive to create lasting memories in the hearts of children of all ages for this historic holiday tradition."
