TORONTO - A third man faces a murder charge in connection with the killing of a prisoner in the Don Jail several months ago.

On Jan. 2, correctional staff at the Don Jail found 24-year-old Kevon Phillip suffering from obvious signs of trauma.

Phillip was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

Nixon Nirmalendran, 20, has been charged with second-degree murder.

Said Mohamed, 22, of Toronto and Nathaniel Grant, 25, of Toronto were charged with second-degree murder last month.

The Don Jail is slated to close in 2012 and the inmates will be moved to the Toronto South Detention Centre, which is under construction.
