Professional eating is coming to Toronto and it's going to be a lot more Canadian in flavour.

On May 22, BMO Field is going to host the first ever World Poutine Championship.

Popular local chain Smoke's Poutinerie is hosting the event, which will see some of Major League Eating's top eaters plow through the nationally prized mix of fries, cheese curds and gravy.

Smoke's is also holding a contest on their website to allow three non-professionals the chance to compete.

The event takes place at 3 p.m. following the TFC vs. New England soccer game.

Tickets are mostly sold out Blogto.com reports, but the founder of Smoke's says he will be giving away tickets during the upcoming weeks.
