Toronto police from 43 Division are out investigating near the entrance of Morningside Park after a passerby discovered human remains this morning.

It isn't known at this point if the remains are those of a male or female or how long they may have been there, although they appear to be decomposed.

Property and clothing have also been found at the scene.

Morningside Park is bounded by Ellesmere Road to the north, Morningside Avenue to the east and Orton Park Road to the west.

The remains were found near the Morningside Avenue entrance. They will be taken to the coroner's office for further examination.

Police say the homicide squad is monitoring the case, which is standard in such cases, and that nothing at this point suggests foul play.
