EUGENIA, Ont. - Provincial police say the search for a young Cambridge, Ont., man has ended after divers found his body in the waters of Lake Eugenia, northeast of Flesherton.
The 18-year-old man had been missing since his canoe capsized on the lake in southern Ontario sometime before 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
A 14-year-old female who was with him managed to swim to shore and was treated and released from an area hospital.
The recovery of the young man came during a water search involving an OPP marine unit and an aerial search by a helicopter dispatched from a Trenton-based rescue centre.
The man's name is being withheld to allow proper notification of his family members.
Police say the two teens had been at an overnight post-prom event involving more than a dozen students at a cottage near the lake.
