TORONTO -

Toronto FC star Dwayne De Rosario has been voted Major League Soccer's player of the week for the second time this season, earning the honour for a strong effort in his team's weekend win over San Jose.

The 32-year-old came off the bench to score twice in the second half of the game on Saturday, leading Toronto to a 3-1 road win over the Earthquakes in northern California. De Rosario was named player of the week for the first time this season in Week 5.

De Rosario has scored eight goals in nine MLS games with Toronto, helping the team to a four-game unbeaten streak in league play. The Toronto native has accounted for all but seven of his team's MLS goals this season.

He scored his first goal against San Jose in the 66th minute, after sprinting to the top of the box for a ball chipped in behind the defence. His second came in second half stoppage time, when he scored into an empty net from eight yards out.

The weekly award is voted upon by the North American Soccer Reporters, a group comprised of print, television, radio and online media.
