Toronto Police have arrested a 14-year-old male in connection with the alleged sexual assault of two women at a long-term care facility, one of whom was 99 years old.

The arrest came about after someone tipped police, they said Wednesday.

The suspect is to appear in court at 2 p.m. to answer to two counts of sexual assault. He should learn today whether or not he gets bail.

As he is a young offender, the youth cannot be identified due to provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The alleged assaults occurred on May 23 at the Kipling Acres long-term care facility in north Etobicoke. It is believed to have happened around suppertime.

The suspect allegedly attacked the two women over a 30-minute period. Police say the women weren't physically injured, but they were traumatized by what happened to them.
