TORONTO - Toronto police say they have been able to speak with a man who is a witness in a fatal stabbing last weekend.

Police had said David Winn, 54, was in a car when the man driving the vehicle was stabbed in the neck by a woman.

Their only witness had been a six-year-old girl who told police her mother had stabbed her father.

The driver of the car, Ludlow Gillespie, 25, was pronounced dead in hospital and Melissa Lewis, 24, is charged with second-degree murder.

Investigators had said Winn left the scene with the girl, who was taken to police by other family members.

Police now say they spoke with Winn on Tuesday night, but have released no other information.
