TORONTO - Some Via Rail workers have voted in favour of going on strike if they're unable to reach a new labour agreement with the company.

More than 2,000 on-train and clerical workers voted 94 per cent in favour of strike action if a deal isn't reached by June 27.

A strike would include ticket vendors and maintenance workers.

The employees are represented by the Canadian Auto Workers union.

Further talks are scheduled for the week of June 21.
