Toronto police have released a photo of a boy who was stabbed to death on Saturday in the hope that witnesses will come forward with information.

Justice Ferrigno, 16, was killed in the area of Bathurst and St. Clair Avenues around midnight after becoming involved in a dispute at a park near Hillcrest Junior Public School.

The fight moved onto Hilton Ave. where Ferrigno was stabbed, police said.

Police are looking for a white male, believed to be under 18. He is described as having dark hair, glasses and a slim build. Police say the suspected killer and his victim did not know each other.

The suspect fled on foot and was last seen wearing a khaki-green, army-style jacket and carrying a black bag.

A Grade 8 graduation party was taking place nearby, but police say the violence was not related to the party.

Homicide detective Mary Vruna suggests the suspect retain a lawyer and surrender himself to 13 Division headquarters on Eglinton Avenue.

"I am asking further witnesses to come forward who have left the scene prior to police arrival -- who may have been frightened off because of the incident," she said.

"I am requesting parents who know their children were in this neighbourhood…to bring their children forward so we can speak to them to assist us in identifying this individual quickly … I feel pretty confident that we will arrest this individual."

Meanwhile, his family is mourning the death of a young man who they say had a good heart.

As to Justin's killer, "He needs to pay because he killed everybody -- he killed everybody in my family," said a sobbing Letitia Ferrigno, the boy's grandmother.

Karina Ferrigno, Justin's cousin, urged the suspect to do the right thing and turn himself in.
