An assault investigation by Toronto police has been upgraded to a homicide after the victim succumbed to injuries Friday.
Terry Rideout, 35, of Toronto was assaulted early on the morning of Saturday, June 12 near Lake Shore Boulevard West and Islington Avenue.
Jason Miller, 30, of Toronto was charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, police said.
The homicide squad has now taken over the investigation.
