TORONTO - Toronto police say a stabbing suspect has been charged, and a seven-month-old child they were concerned about is safe.

Police had been searching for a suspect after a 19-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her former common-law husband on July 10 around 8:50 p.m.

The man received non-life-threatening injuries. When police arrived at the Darlingside Drive residence, the suspect had fled.

A woman who surrendered to police has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and mischief, and police say they have confirmed the child is OK.
