Barrie police have arrested a male suspect in connection with a weekend double-stabbing.

Amid reports of violence, police were called to a downtown location in Barrie just after closing time on Saturday morning.

Two men who had been stabbed were taken to a local hospital, before being transferred to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto.

A few hours later, a 23-year-old male succumbed to his injuries. The victim is Troy Lush, from Innisfil, Ont.

The other victim -- a 25-year-old male -- was stabbed in the head, but is expected to survive. His identity will not be released by Barrie police.

Jeffrey Surgenor, 23, faces charges of manslaughter and aggravated assault.

The accused will be in court on Monday.
