York police are trying to help reunite a Vaughan family with its stolen dog Honey -- a dog that requires daily medication for a diabetic condition.

The suspects took the tiny dog from the victim's car as it was parked outside Dooley's Billiards on Friday, Aug. 13, police said Wednesday in a news release.

"The suspects were captured on video as they stole the dog …," they said.

Honey is a one-kilogram Pomeranian/Yorkshire terrier mix. She is light in colour.

Police say the five suspects appear to be between 18 and 25 years of age.

They appear to all have medium complexions. "They all have dark-coloured hair and are wearing casual clothing which includes jeans, T-shirts and running shoes," they said.
