WINDSOR, Ont. - The Ontario city of Windsor has been chosen as the location for a new factory to be built by European solar company Siliken SA.

The factory is expected to be in full production by the middle of next year and employ 175 people.

Siliken already has operations in eight European countries and the United States.

The Windsor plant will be the company's second in North America, after one in San Diego, Calif.

The Ontario plant will be capable of making 50 megawatts of solar modules per year by the second quarter of 2011.
