York Regional Police have issued a murder warrant in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred outside a Markham restaurant last weekend.

The murder warrant comes after three of four men being sought by police in connection to the stabbing death of 28-year-old Vandin Svay turned themselves in to police over the weekend.

On Oct. 16, Svay and another man were stabbed during an altercation outside the Century Palace Restaurant at 398 Ferrier Street, near Steeles and Warden Avenues.

The two men were rushed to hospital by friends. Svay was pronounced dead later that night. The cause of death has been confirmed to be sharp-force trauma.

"An altercation broke out between the individuals. One thing leads to another and an individual gets injured and succumbs to his injuries," Homicide Det.-Sgt. Larry Wilson told reporters on Saturday.

A 24-year-old man remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Earlier this week, York police released security photographs of four people they believed were connected to the altercation.

Police say they have interviewed a number of witnesses who were at a large banquet at the Century Palace Restaurant that night.

Two suspects turned themselves in to police on Friday after contacting homicide investigators earlier in the day. A third turned himself in on Saturday.

Meng Ly Lim, 28, Cho Chea, 24, and Veasna Sam, 30, all of Toronto, are charged with first degree murder and attempted murder.

Sinhem Srun, also known as "Mao," is wanted for first-degree murder. Police strongly recommend he seek legal counsel and surrender to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the York Regional Police Homicide Unit at 1-866-287-5025, ext. 7865 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
