Toronto police are investigating another attempted sexual assault, this time in the area of Yonge Street and York Mills Road.

The incident occurred Friday shortly at about 13: p.m. along a wooded path that leads from Loretto Abbey Catholic Secondary School -- an all-girls institution -- to the York Mills subway station, police said.

A man approached a 15-year-old girl from behind who was alone at the time and attempted to sexual assault her. It was a brief encounter and the girl fought off the man.

The girl suffered no injuries, police said.

When the girl got to the school, she told a teacher, who called police.

The school was placed into hold-and-secure mode for about one hour, which means people could not enter or leave the school. That order has since been lifted.

In a letter to parents, school principal Alda Bassani said of the attack: "Thankfully her friends were close by and the male ran off when he saw the other students."

Police described the man as having a dark brown complexion, between 25-30 years old, 5'9 – 5'11, with a medium build. He was balding with short black hair and unshaven. He was wearing a black track suit.

In the meantime, Bassani recommended that students avoid using the pathway as it is unsupervised.

Police have investigated several similar incidents in recent days, but mainly in Scarborough.
