Toronto police released a photo Friday of a man they are seeking in connection with the sexual assault of a teenaged girl in Scarborough's Knob Hill park last week.

Devon Steven Simpson, 32, of Toronto is described as black, 5'6" and 160 lbs. He has short brown hair and brown eyes.

On Nov. 2, a 13-year-old girl was walking on a trail within the park at about 3:30 p.m. A stranger walked with her, talked with her, and when they approached a secluded area, allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Investigators will only say they have "evidence" of Simpson's involvement. They believe he is still in Toronto.

No allegations against Simpson have been proven in a court of law.

Although there have been several high-profile sexual assaults in Scarborough in recent weeks, police say that the total number of such incidents in the borough is down by about 30 per cent when compared to 2009.

Arrest made

Toronto police say they have charged a man with two counts of sexual assault stemming from incidents in the Black Creek Parklands area this fall.

That location is just northwest of the intersection of Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road in the city’s northwest.

Four attacks are alleged to have occurred since September, all between noon and 7 p.m. In these attacks, police say the women were followed by a man. As they walked into a clearing, he would approach them from behind, make inappropriate sexual comments and then sexually assault them, police said.

Danny Correa, 25, of Toronto is facing a total of two counts of sexual assault.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

No allegations against Correa have been proven in a court of law.

Police say they believe there may be more victims. They ask anyone with information to call 416-808-3100, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, text TOR and a message to CRIMES (274637).
