The human remains found on the outskirts of Milton, Ont., on Monday are those of a Toronto man who went missing more than two weeks ago.

Garfield Steele, 32, was last seen alive on Nov. 3 in the Eglinton Avenue East and Bellamy Road North area.

Toronto police said they were concerned for his safety when his disappearance was first reported on Nov. 10.

Steele's remains were found after a passerby spotted something suspicious on 6th Line and 20 Sideroad in Nassagweya Township, Monday afternoon, and called Halton region police.

Foul play is suspected in the death.

A post-mortem examination was scheduled for Tuesday at Hamilton General Hospital.

Homicide detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact Halton Regional Police at 905-825-4776 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
