A new television station in the remote community of Agincourt was ready to sign on Jan. 1, 1961. It was called CFTO and was it the most eleborate cutting edge station in North America.

50 Years of CTV Toronto

CTV Toronto first signed on the air as CFTO TV on January 1st, 1961. Since that day we've continued to produce local entertainment, news and information programming from the same studios at McCowan and the 401 in Scarborough.

Today, CTV News at 6 is Toronto’s most watched news program. We have a 50 year commitment to news, weather, sports, and entertainment and are dedicated to providing information that matters most to Toronto and the GTA.
