An 18-year-old male died in hospital after being gunned down in an apartment complex on the city's west-end Saturday. Police are also investigating a second shooting which is linked to the homicide.

The fatal shooting occurred near Jane Street and Woolner Avenue around 4 p.m. in a fourth-floor hallway of an apartment tower. The male victim was sent to Sunnybrook Hospital for treatment, but later died.

It's believed the victim was shot at least once in the head and once in the chest, said Toronto Police Det. Steve Ryan.

According to another report, three shots were fired.

Police may be searching for three suspects in the case. Officers said that the victim is "known to police" and is being formally identified by family members.

No weapon has been recovered.

Meanwhile, a second victim was taken to the Trillium Hospital in Mississauga on Saturday evening with a gunshot wound in his leg.

The second victim, aged 18, was reportedly shot at a bus stop in the area of Jane and Dundas Streets, which isn't far from the scene of the homicide.

The wounded victim showed up at home before being taken to hospital.

Police in Peel and Toronto are currently looking for suspects. It's believed that officers will review security images captured at the scene.
