A 20-year-old woman has been charged with first-degree murder after another woman was found dead in a Scarborough apartment building Friday morning.
Police were called shortly after 10:30 a.m. to an apartment at 4301 Kingston Rd., where they found the deceased woman.
The victim has been identified as 59-year-old Zaniffa Balkaran.
The accused, Annesair Balkaran, 20, appeared in court Saturday and has been charged with first degree murder.
The exact relationship between the deceased and the accused isn't known.
No cause of death has been released. This is the city's third homicide of 2011.
