A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a Richmond Hill man accused of killing a 27-year-old man outside a Vaughan banquet hall earlier this month.

York Regional Police said the 31-year-old suspect, Mohand Mohamed, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Arash Elijah Bakhtaryani.

Bakhtaryani, a Toronto resident, was gunned down in the parking lot of the Paradise Banquet and Convention Centre at 7601 Jane St. on Jan. 21 at 11:15 p.m.

Police have identified Mohamed as a suspect and are attempting to bring him into custody.

Mohamed is considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached, police said.

Instead, police are urging people who believe they have seen him to call their nearest police department or Crime Stoppers immediately.

Anyone with information about Mohamed's whereabouts is asked to call police at 1-866-287-5025 or 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7865, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
