Police have charged a 41-year-old man with second-degree murder after his father died following an altercation at a Burlington home on Thursday.

Halton region police responded to a call at a home on Enfield Road in Burlington at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The caller reported an altercation was taking place inside.

Police found a badly injured man, who was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead. The other man was taken into custody without incident.

The circumstances that led to the man's death are under police investigation.

On Friday, police charged Burlington resident Konstanty Kieda, 41, with second-degree murder. He was to appear in court on Friday morning.

The victim has been indentified as his father, 67-year-old Michal Kieda.
