Hamilton police have arrested a suspect in the brutal murder of retired teacher Audrey Gleave.
Gleave, 73, was found inside her home outside Brantford, Ont., on Dec. 30, 2010.
Police said she was the victim of a "savage attack" and had been stabbed several times and sexually assaulted.
Neighbours and friends said Gleave had retired from teaching in 2006 and lived alone.
David Laurie Scott, 50, was arrested in Brantford on Friday without incident.
Scott was expected to appear in a Hamilton court on Friday to face a charge of first degree murder.
