An arrest warrant has been issued in the case of a father of 10 who was shot and killed outside a sports bar early Monday morning.

Police have issued the warrant for the arrest of Nicholas Walker, 37, for first degree murder.

Walker is described as:

-black

-6'0"

-180 lbs

-short black hair

-also known by the name "Nipsy"

The family of Clifenton Ford, 38, spoke out about his death earlier this week.

Leslie Parker, the mother of four of Ford's children, said the shooter has taken a father from his kids.

"Whatever problems you (the shooter) may have had with him, if it was an accident, he was taken away, a father from his children," she said.

"This man had 10 children and he is gone, so think about that."

Ayisha Spence, another mother of the victim's children, said he was an exceptional person.

"He was a great son, he was a great uncle, he was a great man all around and he didn't deserve this," she said.

Meanwhile, police are asking a number of people who attended The G Chill and Grill on Sunday night and Monday morning, when 38-year-old Ford was killed, to contact police.

Authorities made the request after saying that a number of people left the 2528 Eglinton Avenue East bar before officers were able to speak to them.

Const. Tony Vella said police were called at about 2:25 a.m.

It was only when they attended the scene that police found the victim on the ground outside with gunshot wounds to the upper half of his body.

"We spoke to a number of people at the bar," said Vella. "But we are asking people that left without speaking to us to contact homicide."

This is Toronto's 17th homicide of the year.

Anyone at the bar who anyone who may be able to provide more information is asked to call Det. Sgt. Wayne Banks at (416) 808-7400.
