TORONTO - The CN Tower and other towering landmarks around the world will be lit up tonight in the colours of Japan.

The CN Tower, the Olympic Tower in Montreal, the Empire State Building and other structures will be flooded in red and white.

It's a global show of support for the people of Japan still reeling from the devastating earthquake and tsunami that killed thousands of people and caused billions of dollars in damage.

Some other buildings taking part include the John Hancock Observatory in Chicago, the Menara -- which towers over Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- the Macau Tower and Sky Tower in Auckland, New Zealand.
