Police have a man in custody after a stolen BMW crashed into a bus shelter in Toronto's east end early Friday morning.
The vehicle left the roadway before smashing into the TTC shelter and a light post at Lawrence Avenue and Carnforth Road just before 6 a.m.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing two men and two women flee the wreck, a BMW 6 Series.
Police said they arrested the driver about a block from the scene and charged him with impaired driving, while more charges are pending.
They also said a woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
