TTC commuters west of Yonge Street are behind advised to expect delays of about 20 minutes on bus routes during rush hour due to a fire earlier Friday at its Mt. Dennis Garage.
Spokesperson Jessica Martin said the garage was evacuated when the fire broke out just after the noon hour, and no injuries are reported.
She said that while the full extent of damage is not yet known, 30 buses in the garage "will have at least the smell of smoke" and will not be used on Friday.
The facility near Weston Road and Jane Street can house up to 100 buses, but 78 are used during rush hour.
Martin said extra buses will instead be brought in from other parts of the city, but commuters can expect delays on routes west of Yonge Street.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
