HAMILTON, Ont. - The Crown has withdrawn charges against a man accused in the beating death of a retired teacher in Hamilton.
David Laurie Scott was charged with first-degree murder in February.
Police say the charges were withdrawn today after a review of forensic evidence.
The body of 73-year-old Audrey Gleave was found in the garage of her Ancaster home last Dec. 30. She had been beaten and stabbed.
Gleave was a retired science and math teacher who lived a quiet life with her dogs and had no family.
Police say they continue to investigate and want to hear from anyone with information.
