Provincial police have arrested two men after $17 million worth of marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia were seized from a massive greenhouse in Norfolk County, Ont. on Wednesday.

OPP investigators discovered the cache of marijuana and related equipment after executing a search warrant on a residence at Woodley Road in Norfolk County, a community near Lake Erie.

OPP Const. Kari Lee said around $16 million worth of marijuana plants, and related equipment worth about $1 million, were confiscated from the property.

Lee could not provide specifics on what led police to the two Toronto-area men or the Norfolk County property.

"The greenhouses were on the property of a residence, but all of this is still under investigation and before the courts," she said.

Yu Chen, 34, of Scarborough and Hao Liu, 23, of Toronto face charges related to the growing, possession and trafficking of marijuana.

Chen and Liu were scheduled to appear in court for bail hearings on Friday.
